El Paso tennis players eliminated at UIL state tennis tournament in San Antonio
Five El Paso high school tennis players competed at the UIL state tennis tournament on Thursday. Here is a look at how they fared.
Class 6A
Coronado freshman Makenzie Baptist lost in three sets in the girls singles competition. She lost 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 to Ahona Chowdury of Conroe the Woodlands.
The Franklin mixed doubles team of Karina Lee and Ayden Fraire lost in three sets to Gabriel Segubiense/Elizabeth Shu of Fort Bend Clements, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3
Class 5A
El Paso High's Maximus Martin lost in the boys singles quarterfinals to Matteo Mejia of Prosper Walnut Grove, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
El Paso High's Daniela Ocaranza lost in the girls singles quarterfinals to Jenny Su of Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
