BASEBALL

Teutopolis defeated Breese (Mater Dei), 9-0, in Clinton County.

Austin Borries had three hits. Mick Niebrugge had two, and Davin Worman, Mitch Koester, Conner Hoelscher, and Brett Kreke had one for the Wooden Shoes (5-3).

Logan Lawson and Worman pitched for Teutopolis. Lawson allowed two hits and one walk to six strikeouts in four innings. Worman allowed one walk to six strikeouts in three innings.

Windsor/Strasburg (Stewardson-S.) 6, Newton 3

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg defeated Newton, 6-3, at Jasper County Boys and Girls Park.

Jackson Gurgel had three hits. Ben Bridges and Blayzz Verdeyen had two, and Connor Manhart, Kendall Morris, and Charley Spour had one for the Hatchets (4-4).

Gurgel pitched and allowed six hits, three runs, and four walks to three strikeouts in seven innings.

As for the Eagles (6-6), Dominic Baltzell had two hits, and Isaac Flowers, Max Meinhart, Payton Harris, and Dylan Gier had one.

Meinhart and Gus Bierman pitched for Newton. Meinhart allowed eight hits, four runs (three earned), and one walk to four strikeouts in six innings. Bierman allowed two hits, two runs, and one walk in one inning.

Farina (South Central) 11, Mulberry Grove 0

South Central defeated Mulberry Grove, 11-0, in Bond County.

Zane Montes and Max Magnus had two hits, and Trevan Sidwell, Colton Smith, Callaway Smith, and Hudson Moore had one for the Cougars (4-3).

Garret Shumate and Luke Shumate pitched for South Central. Garret allowed four hits and three walks to three strikeouts in four innings. Luke had two strikeouts in one inning.

BOYS TENNIS

Effingham (St. Anthony) 5, Robinson 4

St. Anthony defeated Robinson, 5-4, in Crawford County.

In singles matches, Manaye Mossman (STA) defeated Eli Rosborough (R) 6-4, 6-0. Evan Mossman (STA) beat Aiden Elder (R) 6-1, 6-4, and Collin Westendorf (STA) fell to Owen Schmidt (R) 4-6, 1-6.

In doubles matches, Evan and Manaye Mossman defeated Elder and Rosborough 6-0, 6-4. Joey Trupiano and Westendorf (STA) fell to Schmidt and Jameson Poorman (R) 4-6, 6-7, and Connor Eggars and Jackson Schultz (STA) beat Cody Waggoner and Duke Thompson (R) 6-3, 7-5.

SOFTBALL

Windsor/Strasburg (Stewardson-S.) 5, Dieterich 3

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg defeated Dieterich, 5-3, at Windsor Elementary School Softball Field.

Alaira Friese had three hits, and Mya Friese, Samantha Hayes, Erin Althoff, Kendra Hayes, and Claire Holland had one for the Hatchets (2-1, 1-0 National Trail).

Kendra and Samantha Hayes pitched for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg. Kendra allowed six hits and three runs with three strikeouts in four innings. Samantha had five strikeouts in three innings.

As for the Movin Maroons (4-5, 2-1 National Trail), Ella Kreke had two hits, and Marli Michl, Lucie Jansen, Brittney Niemerg, and Ruby Westendorf had one.

Niemerg and Marli pitched for Dieterich. Niemerg allowed six hits, five unearned runs, and one walk to three strikeouts in four innings. Marli allowed one walk to one strikeout in two innings.

Newton 11, Oblong/Palestine-Hutsonville 1

Newton defeated Oblong/Palestine-Hutsonville, 11-1, in Crawford County.

Bailee Frichtl had four hits. Allie Hermann and Alisson Stanley had two, and Lexie Grove, Audrie Reich, Avery Mulvey, and Macy Barthelemy had one for the Lady Eagles (6-1).

Amelia Collins pitched for Newton. She allowed five hits, one run, and two walks to six strikeouts in five innings.

TRACK AND FIELD

Effingham (H.S.) Coed Meet

Effingham took first in girls' and boys' events at the Effingham Coed Meet.

The girls finished with 106 points, Altamont was second with 33, and Cumberland was third with 25.

The boys finished with 60.5 points, Altamont was second with 55.5 points, Cumberland was third with 48, and Dieterich was fourth with seven.

Flaming Heart Macy Kirk won the 100 with a time of 13.09 seconds. Altamont's Gabriella Weishaar won the 200 with a time of 29.40 seconds. Lady Indian Abigail Weishaar won the 400 with a time of 1:06.50. Effingham's Morgan Springer won the 800 with a time of 2:52.46 and the 1600 with a time of 6:58.40.

Flaming Heart Jessica Larsen won the 3200 at 12:56.16.

Effingham's Camdyn Burgholzer won the 100-meter hurdles at 18.73 seconds and the 300-meter hurdles at 55.80 seconds.

The Cumberland 4x100-meter relay team of Brielle Aaron, Leah Gray, Kailen Leitch, and Katelyn Shoemaker won in 57.82 seconds. Altamont's 4x200 of Katie Tedrick, Ella Short, Daisy Allen, and Gabriella Weishaar won in 2:04.61, and Effingham's 4x800 of Melia Wendling, Lauren Etheridge, Gracie Eaton, and Springer won in 13:08.78.

Flaming Heart Kendyll Schoonover won the shot put after a throw of 27 feet, 11 inches. Altamont's Justyce Higgs won the discus with a toss of 88 feet.

Burgholzer won the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 10 inches. Shoemaker won the long jump at 14 feet, 7.25 inches, and Effingham's Korina Hecht won the triple jump after a leap of 26 feet, 4.5 inches.

As for boys' events, Cumberland's Reid Carlen won the 100 at 10.68 seconds. Effingham's Jacob Weaver won the 200 with a time of 23.45 seconds. Pirate Kaleb Bierman won the 400 with a time of 57.40 seconds. Flaming Heart Alex Gordon won the 800 with a time of 2:12.95, and Cumberland's Riley Morgan won the 1600 with a time of 5:25.55.

Dieterich's Kaden Einhorn won the 3200 with a time of 11:02.6.

Altamont's Kamryn Wolfert won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.95 seconds, and Cumberland's Logan Gerhardt won the 300-meter hurdles in 46.10 seconds.

Cumberland's 4x100 of Carlen, Gerhardt, Bierman, and Cooper Yocum won in 47.43 seconds, and the Pirates' 4x800 of Kade Bradley, Landon Finn, Cameron Roedl, and Sawyer Wellbaum won in 10:41.69.

Effingham's Charlie Ring won the shot put with a throw of 42 feet, 3 inches. Flaming Heart Blayne Ring won the discus after a throw of 128 feet, 2 inches. Altamont's Ben Roedl won the high jump after a leap of 6 feet, 2 inches, the long jump at 20 feet, 6 inches, and the triple jump at 40 feet, 9.5 inches.

Robinson Coed Meet

St. Anthony finished second in boys' and girls' events at the Robinson Coed Meet.

Connor Croy finished sixth in the 100 at 12.1 seconds and seventh in the 200 at 25.9 seconds. Eliott Frisbie was second in the 400 at 58.4 seconds. Julius Ramos was second in the 800 at 2:14.9. James Emmerich was fourth in the 1600 at 5:50.6, and Daniel Ramos won the 3200 at 11:54.7.

Eli Hiatt was second in the 110-meter hurdles at 17.8 seconds and first in the 300-meter hurdles at 46 seconds.

The Bulldogs 4x100 team of Croy, Keegan Overbeck, Evan Meyer, and Hiatt finished third in 48.7 seconds. The 4x200 team of Michael Wright, Overbeck, Riley Miller, and Luis Gonzalez was fourth at 1:52.1. The 4x400 team of Frisbie, Emmerich, Julius Ramos, and Noah Flaig was first in 3:51.2, and the 4x800 team of Frisbie, Emmerich, Isaac Fallert, and Flaig was second in 9:17.3.

Frisbie was second in the shot put after a throw of 39 feet, 1 inch. Harrison Miller was third in the discus after a toss of 95 feet, 8 inches.

Calvin Sudkamp placed second in the high jump after a leap of 5 feet 10 inches and the triple jump after a jump of 35 feet, and Emmerich placed eighth in the long jump after a leap of 14 feet 11 inches.

As for girls' events, Annabelle Weishaar finished fourth in the 100 after a time of 14.1 seconds. Aubrey Denning was second in the 400 at 1:07.4 and won the 800 at 2:26.4. Mady Hodge was third in the 100-meter hurdles at 19.1 seconds and won the 300-meter hurdles at 53.3 seconds.

The 4x100 team of Weishaar, Sophia Emmerich, Alisyn Kollman, and Audrey LaSarge was first in 56.2 seconds. The 4x200 team of Weishaar, Emmerich, Grace Niebrugge, and LaSarge was second in 2:00.2, and the 4x400 team of LaSarge, Gracie Slifer, Emma Helmink, and Denning was second in 4:39.7.

Callie Emmerich was second in the shot put after a toss of 30 feet, 2.5 inches. Madilyn Haarmann was second in the discus after a toss of 84 feet, 4.5 inches. Mary Scheidemantel won the high jump after a leap of five feet. Maggie Moeller was fifth in the long jump after a jump of 12 feet, 11 inches, and Niebrugge was second in the triple jump after a leap of 30 feet, 0.25 inches.

Neoga Coed Meet

Neoga finished second in boys' and girls' events at the Marshall Meet.

The boys finished with 48 points. Marshall was first with 81, and Lawrenceville was third with 21

The girls finished with 37 points, Marshall was first with 102, and Lawrenceville was third with 22.

Ian Caudill finished third in the 100 at 12.4 seconds. Gavin Ray finished third in the 200 at 26.4 seconds. Lucas Keller finished first in the 400 at 1:01.5. Brett Matusus was fourth in the 800 at 2:21, and Tate Christner scratched in the 1600.

The 4x100 team of Rylan Eaton, Caudill, Fisher Porter, and Jayton Hanfland finished second in 50.4 seconds. The 4x200 team finished first in 1:53.6. The 4x400 team of Keller, Matusus, Brayden Ray, and Hanfland finished second at 4:08.1, and the 4x800 team of Matusus, Kyle Will, Asher Cardinal, and Keller won in 10:25.2.

Brayden Neece won the shot put after a throw of 34 feet, 10 inches. Tanner Koester finished fifth in the discus after a throw of 77 feet, 1 inch. Brayden Ray won the high jump after a leap of 5 feet, 6 inches, and Gavin Ray finished second in the long jump after a leap of 17 feet, 5.75 inches and won the triple jump after a leap of 36 feet, 6 inches.

As for the girls, Malory Henderson won the 100 in 13.8 seconds. Cheyenne Ames finished sixth in the 200 at 34.9 seconds. Addison Mast was second in the 400 at 1:15.8. Kendal Lindsay was fifth in the 800 at 3:09.8. Lexie Fletcher was fifth in the 1600 at 6:59, and Atalie Osborn was third in the 3200 at 16:17.8.

Katelyn Strohl was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles at 20.6 seconds. Osborn was third in the 300-meter hurdles at 1:04.6.

The 4x100 team of Addilyn Neece, Molly Hutchings, Ames, and Emileonna Hamilton finished third at 1:02.7. The 4x400 team of Mast, Strohl, Lindsay, and Fletcher was second at 5:17.2, and the 4x800 team of Mast, Annie Clark, Lindsay, and Fletcher won at 13:06.5.

Taylor Campbell was sixth in the shot put at 23 feet, 9 inches. Macy Moran was fourth in the discus at 54 feet, 3 inches. Henderson was first in the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches. Hamilton was second in the long jump at 12 feet, 8.25 inches, and Strohl scratched in the triple jump.
