Eddie George to be inducted in Nashville Entrepreneurs' Hall of Fame

Former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George, now in his third year as coach of the Tennessee State football team, will be inducted into the Entrepreneurs' Hall of Fame, the Nashville Entrepreneur Center announced Wednesday.

George, 50, was drafted No. 14 overall by the Houston Oilers in 1996 and was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He remained with the franchise when it transitioned to Tennessee, eventually becoming its all-time leading rusher with 10,009 career yards.

After retiring from the NFL in 2006, with four consecutive Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl appearance with the Titans, George returned to school and earned his MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern.

He embarked on a series of ventures, including the establishment of the Edward George Wealth Management Group.

George also developed the Business of Professional Sports at the Fisher School of Business at Ohio State, where he played from 1992 to 1995 and won the Heisman Trophy in 1995. He earned his undergraduate degree there in landscape architecture.
