Eagles vs. Buccaneers: Predictions, odds, injury news, and how to watch game Monday night

After a horrendous end to the season, the Philadelphia Eagles will not be hosting a playoff game in 2024. Rather, they will go to Raymond James Stadium to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Bucs may not have the best record, but their offense has been quietly solid down the stretch this season. Baker Mayfield and company have won five of their last six games and they have scored at least 20 points in four of those games. The Eagles are in the exact opposite situation. After contending for the top seed in the NFC, Philly lost five of their last six. It got so bad that rumors started swirling that the Eagles were dissatisfied with Jalen Hurts as their quarterback.

The validity/outlandishness of those rumors aside, the Eagles are in must-win territory, not just because this is a playoff game, but to prove to fans across America that they are still a force to be reckoned with. If the Eagles are one and done, the respect they earned throughout last season will be mostly dissipated. That could be very tough to do if Hurts' finger injury that he sustained in Week 18 was as bad as it looked.

Sportsbook Wire: Buccaneers (+3)

Sportsbook Wire points out that the Eagles are an abysmal 5-6-2 ATS when favored by three or more points. The Bucs should be able to take advantage of an Eagles defense that has allowed over 30 points per game over their last six games.

CBS Sports: Buccaneers 24, Eagles 23

Tyler Sullivan writes, "This was one of the more difficult games for me to handicap because it's hard to imagine the Eagles being a first-round exit, but that's the way I'm leaning. The vibes around Philadelphia throughout the second half of the season have been horrible and the Eagles seem to have completely lost their identity. Not to mention Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown got banged up in the Week 18 finale against New York."

BetMGM: Bucs (+3)

BetMGM claims that their model may give the Eagles a 57.6 percent chance of winning the game, but the Bucs are given an astounding 73 percent chance of covering the spread. At that percentage, it's best to go with the underdog.
