E/K-M, L/L-M boys' hoops advance to state tourney

Mar. 9—FARGO — The Edgeley/Kulm-Montpelier boys' basketball team is headed back to the state tournament thanks to a 61-57 win over North Border on Saturday, March 9, at the Scheels Center.

The Eagles (16-9) took a 21-19 lead into the half before the Rebels (22-4) scored 44 points in the second half to get the win.

The Eagles leading scorer was Grant Cosley with 27 points. The Rebels leading scorer was Jacob Nitschke with 22 points.

The Rebels now return to the floor at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, when they take on Westhope/Newburg.

The LaMoure/Litchville-Marion Loboes got a convincing 50-38 win over New Rockford-Sheyenne in the challenge game.

The Loboes (16-10) were led by Max Musland's 14 points.

The Loboes return to the floor at 6:30 p.m. on March 14 when they take on North Star.
