E.D. White leads all Houma-, Thibodaux-area boys swim teams in LHSAA state championships
The LHSAA swimming championships were held last weekend, and seven Houma- and Thibodaux-area teams qualified for the boys titles.
Each swimmer scores points for his team, and in the eight-lane pool where the championships were decided, the winner of each race received 20 points. Second place scored 16, third place got 15, and so on, down to one point for the finisher with the 16th-place time. Whichever team scores the most points is the state champion, and while winning races helps the most, championships are won by consistently high finishes across as many races as possible.
