DWU's Ady Dwight earns third consecutive NAIA first team All-American volleyball honor

Dec. 11—MITCHELL — More hardware continues to come Dakota Wesleyan volleyball player Ady Dwight's way.

The senior middle blocker from Langford, South Dakota was named an NAIA first-team All-American for the third consecutive season. Dwight is the Tigers' first three-time first-team All-America selection and was an honorable mention selection in 2020.

The All-American honors are in addition to Dwight winning GPAC attacker of the year and being named to the GPAC all-conference first team. She also was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association's all-region first team for the fourth consecutive season.

This season, Dwight posted 556 kills — which led the NAIA at the end of the regular season — with a career-best .345 hitting percentage, helping the Tigers to 19 wins. She also picked up 97 total blocks and set career-highs in digs (44) and service aces (10). A steady presence in DWU's rotation, Dwight played in all 34 of the Tigers' matches this season, recording at least 10 kills in 31 of those matches.

Majoring in nursing at DWU, Dwight finished her Tiger volleyball career ranked second all-time with 1,841 kills. She also accumulated a .322 career hitting percentage, 444 total blocks, 98 digs, 13 assists, and 10 service aces.
