Dust Off Your Skis—The First Ski Movie Trailer of the Year Just Dropped

This article originally appeared on Ski Mag

We may only be a few days into August, but Matchstick Productions just released the trailer for their new ski full-length ski movie. So it's officially official: It's time to start dreaming about the next ski season. And MSP's new film says there's nothing wrong with dreaming about skiing, day in and day out, your entire life.

"Anywhere From Here" is an exploration of the limitless opportunities that skiing holds, as seen through the eyes of 12-year-old freestyle phenom, Walker Woodring. From steep spines in Alaska to massive booters in Austria's largest snow park, the film promises a deeper dive into the path that those who've dedicated their lives to the sport have taken. What does it take to live and breathe skiing? It looks a little different for every athlete, but exploring new ranges, standing on high peaks, laying fresh tracks down thousands of feet of untouched snow are a common thread that keep us all coming back for more.

Returning MSP vets like Eric "Hoji" Hjorleifson, Logan Pehota, Lucy Sackbauer, and Mark Abma show us how it's done, and the trailer even hints at a surf scene with Red Bull athlete Mathea Olin. Jackson-based ripper Caite Zeliff makes her MSP debut this season, laying down some steep, dreamy lines in Alaska and the Selkirks in B.C.

"Filming with this crew both in Alaska and B.C. was just such a great reminder of how much joy you can find in skiing. That childlike joy that's so easy to forget about when you're putting your head down in more serious work," says Zeliff. "Getting to ski with this amazing roster of athletes and filmers who are so genuinely excited about putting together an amazing product was so inspiring and a reminder of what skiing should be like."

So, what do we want to be when we grow up? The jury's still out on that one but we can promise you we'll be lining up to see the new film when it debuts in October. Maybe we never have to grow up.
