Duane Howard wins modified feature at Big Diamond Speedway

Jul. 17—Duane Howard won Friday's modified feature at Big Diamond Speedway, his first win at the Minersville track this season, on a night the cars raced without roofs and side panels.

It was the third time the modified cars went topless at Big Diamond, and the first time for the limited late models and 602 crate sportsman.

Andrew Yoder won the limited late model feature. Logan Watt earned the victory in the crate sportsman main. Ronny Suhr Jr. won the roadrunner feature.

Howard earned $3,200 for his victory in the 25-lap modified feature, and joined Craig Von Dohren (2018) and Ryan Godown (2019) as winners in the topless event.

Ryan Krachun was second Friday, followed by Mike Gular, Brett Kressley, Jared Umbenhauer, Mike Lisowski, Dillon Steuer, Nick Rochinski, Timmy Buckwalter, Alex Yankowski.

The limited late models were making their second appearance of the season at Big Diamond. Travis Mease, who won in the division's first appearance in June, finished second Friday. Sean Merkel, Wayne Pfiel and Danny Snyder rounded out the top five.

Following Watt in the 20-lap 602 crate sportsman feature were Danny Buccafusca, Steve Davis, Shon Elk and Doug Smith.

In the roadrunner feature, Andrew Fayash III finished second, followed by Matt Ney, Alex Schoffstall and Kris Ney.
