Hopefully the rain stays away now.

10:46 a.m. - And the day's first inevitable rain delay has arrived.

Only 30 minutes for now. But we'll see.

10:39 a.m. - The Drake Relays schedule always creates some cool scenarios

Like professional track stars giving the Blue Oval up to high schoolers immediately after winning. Running Wild Elite's Ean Caskey wins the mixed 800 meters in the professional division. Shortly, after Iowa Falls Alden's Jaden Damiano and West Des Moines Valley's Emma Havighurst win the boys 110 and girls 100 hurdles. All that occurred in about a 20-minute span.

10:09 a.m. - Another Drake Relays title for Iowa City West

Quartet of Todd Rent, Izaiah Loveless, Aidan Jacobsen and Moustafa Tiea win the boys distance medley relay in 3:27.83 over Ankeny and Urbandale.

9:55 a.m. - First Friday champion is in the books

Waukee quartet of Lena Bruening, Gentry Williams, Jana Maharry and Anjelena Carder wins the girls 800 SMR.

9:32 a.m. - Going to be a wet one at the Blue Oval today

9:06 a.m. - Off and running on day two

Nothing too crazy to start here, just some prelims for boys/girls 100 meters and 100-meter hurdles. First final of the day comes at 9:45 a.m. with the girls' sprint medley relay.
