How is Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa doing against Atlanta Falcons defense in joint practices?
MIAMI GARDENS -- Tuesday marked a change-of-pace day at Dolphins training camp.
The Dolphins welcomed the Atlanta Falcons for their first joint practices this summer. The teams face off Friday in the first preseason game of 2023.
Highlights of the steamy (even by Dolphins standards) workout:
In seven-on-seven: Desmond Ridder found Josh Ali over DeShon Elliott. Cam Smith had a pass break-up. Justin Bethel was called for pass interference.
In receiver vs. DB/LB drills, Bijan Robinson got behind Channing Tindall, Mathew Sexton slipped behind Mark Gilbert, Xavien Howard was called for pass interference.
In 11-on-11s:
Elliott broke up a long pass from Ridder.
Jaelan Phillips sacked Ridder.
Taylor Heinicke hit Ali deep behind Smith and Brandon Jones.
Tua Tagovailoa finds Braylon Sanders, later throws INT
Tua Tagovailoa completed a long pass to Braylon Sanders in 1-on-1 drills.
Erik Ezukanma made a beautiful catch on a deep out from Skylar Thompson in 1-on-1.
Raheem Mostert caught a long pass from Tua in 7-on-7.
Cedrick Wilson had a drop in 7-on-7.
Jason Sanders connected from 46 yards but was wide right from 51 and 55. His 50-plus kicks were an issue last season, when he made only two-of-six.

Falcons' Carlos Washington had clear sailing for a touchdown run inside the 10.
Raheem Mostert continues to make plays in the passing game.
Skylar Thompson was intercepted by Falcons DB Breon Borders in the red zone.

Jerome Baker wore the orange jersey as practice player of the day and chose the playlist. But with two teams out here going on two fields, the volume was so low that Baker ought to demand a second day.
Mike McDaniel discusses Jalen Ramsey's recovery
Mike McDaniel, asked if Jalen Ramsey (off crutches) is "ahead of schedule," says he's on track and that the team training staff doesn't classify players as being ahead or behind schedule. They're rehabbing as planned.
McDaniel said we likely won't see Terron Armstead vs. Falcons until Wednesday.
Regarding excessive heat warning, McDaniel jokes he has minor in meteorology. Heat index already is 108. McDaniel said he will be wearing long-sleeved sweatshirt again in practice, adds he has people updating him on heat during practices, would move up practice if it made much difference.
McDaniel warned players about behaving during joint workout with Falcons. Says if he sees a player doing something that would get him kicked out of a game, "he'll be kicked out of practice."
McDaniel said in joint practices, "you get heightened information on who's going to be part of your team."
McDaniel said he hasn't decided playing-time rotation for Friday night's game vs. Falcons.
