Dolphins-Bills will close out NFL regular season schedule on 'Sunday Night Football'

The Dolphins will close out the NFL's 2023 regular season. The league announced late Sunday night that the Buffalo Bills-Miami Dolphins game at Hard Rock Stadium will be played Sunday with an 8:20 p.m. kickoff. It will be the final game of the regular season leading into the following weekend's playoffs.

The Bills-Dolphins "Sunday Night Football" game on NBC will determine the winner of the AFC East Division. Despite Sunday's 56-19 drubbing by the Baltimore Ravens, Miami can still be the AFC's second seed and guaranteed at least two home playoff games if it beats Buffalo.

If the Dolphins lose to the Bills, they can still claim the AFC's highest wild card if Cleveland loses to Cincinnati on Sunday.

The two other games shifted this weekend will be part of a Saturday doubleheader on ESPN/ABC. The Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens game (4:30 p.m.) will be followed by the Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts (8:15 p.m.).

The Bills own the tiebreaker vs. the Dolphins courtesy of their 48-20 victory at home earlier this season.

The Dolphins became 3-point underdogs to the Bills in the rematch after a potential season-ending injury to linebacker Bradley Chubb (knee) and perhaps missing several other injured key starters, including Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert and Xavien Howard.

If Miami loses on Sunday and Cleveland wins, they’ll be the AFC’s #6 seed and play at #3 Kansas City.

If the Dolphins win on Sunday, they’ll be the #2 seed and face Buffalo (57 percent odds per NY Times), Pittsburgh (25 percent odds) or Jacksonville (17 percent odds).
