Dion Dawkins to play vs. Patriots, Star Lotulelei out

The Buffalo Bills will get one additional piece back to face the New England Patriots on Sunday. But they’ll also lose another.

The team announced on Saturday, one day before the AFC East matchup, that offensive lineman Dion Dawkins has been activated to play. He was on the teams COVID list.

The other move involves Star Lotulelei. Due to personal reasons, he had missed practices throughout this week and he will not play.

In a corresponding move, defensive tackle Eli Ankou was elevated from the practice squad to replace Lotulelei. Ankou will play a depth role while Harrison Phillips is likely to start.

Dawkins is slated to return to his starting spot at left tackle. That will allow rookie Spencer Brown to move back to his usual spot at right tackle.

Last week, Brown moved to the left side to replace Dawkins.

While Dawkins returns, offensive lineman Jon Feliciano and AJ Epenesa remain on the Bills’ COVID list as of now.
