How did 16-year-old Brentwood Academy star Blades Brown finish in PGA Tour debut?

Blades Brown proved in four days the 16-year-old can play on the PGA Tour.

The Brentwood Academy golf star finished the Myrtle Beach Classic at 10-under-par 274 to finish tied for 26th at Dunes Golf and Beach Club in South Carolina. Brown shot a 2-under 69 on Sunday

Brown is ranked No. 176 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and is the top player in the Class of 2026. Brown has already won three TSSAA golf state championships for the Eagles.

Brown made the cut on Friday after shooting 3 under through the first two days, including a 67 on Friday. Brown shot a solid 66 to vault himself into the top 30 on Saturday.

On Sunday, Brown almost made eagle on the par-5 No. 4. He started with a 299-yard drive and hit a 225 shot into the green. He missed a 39-foot putt and made the four-footer for birdie.

On the par-4 10th, Brown made a 9-foot putt for birdie. Brown made birdie on the 611-yard par-5 No. 13, hitting a 272-yard drive, laid up to 124 yards and his next swing was 12 feet away for the birdie putt.

Brown missed a birdie putt on No. 18 and to cap his PGA Tour debut with a smooth par.

Going into the tournament, Brown had said he was wanting to play in a PGA Tour event by the time he turned 17. Brown played the tournament under a sponsor exemption.

Brown has played in some of the biggest events around the amateur golf circuit, including advancing to the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur.

Brown's opportunity to play on the PGA Tour started from his performance at the U.S. Amateur. He is being represented by Sportfive sports marketing agency and has NIL deals with Callaway and New Jersey-based Transcend Capital Advisors.
