The Deuce knows who will win the three CIF football finals involving Ventura County teams

An improbable record, for sure.

So what's St. Bonaventure got to do with it?

Three finals. Three sweeps.

Saturday will mark the fourth time that Ventura County football teams have qualified for three section championship games the same season.

They've won them on the previous three occasions: 1999, 2004 and 2007.

The Deuce was making predictions during each of those seasons. He does not recall how accurately he fared. Conveniently, some may say.

So what's St. Bonaventure got to do with it?

Well, St. Bonaventure will be in the mix for the fourth time.

Obviously, the Seraphs won each time.

One of the most memorable, through The Deuce's eyes, was their 22-15 win over Nordhoff in the 1999 Division XI championship game. Just when it appeared Nordhoff would win in the final minute, a fumble deep in its own territory set up St. Bonaventure's the winning's game-winning TD.

Never know, it could happen again.

So before The Deuce hands back to The Lock for next season, here are his picks:

St. Bonaventure 28, Warren 27: Warren has won three straight one-point games. Key for St. Bonaventure could be RB Koen Glover, who has had two of his best three games in the postseason.

Newbury Park 36, Orange Vista 34: Does Newbury Park have one more late-game theatrics up its sleeve? With all of its offensive weapons, no opponent's lead is safe. Both teams have more than 490 points and 5,000 yards in offense. So expect quite a show on Hurley Field.

Simi Valley 31, Mira Costa 28 (Division 6): Expect Mira Costa to continue its aerial circus. The Mustangs have launched 126 passes for 1,105 yards in its three postseason games. Ball control with RB Brice Hawkins, QB Jesse Sereno and a number of receivers hungry for the ball could be the key for Simi Valley.

Editor's note: The Deuce won't mention it, but he went 3 for 3 with his semifinal picks last week.
