Detroit Lions at Los Angeles Chargers: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 10 game

The Los Angeles Chargers (4-4) take on the Detroit Lions (6-2) in a Week 10 matchup at SoFi Stadium.

The Chargers return home after beating the New York Jets 27-6 on Monday night. Keenan Allen made history by notching 10,000 career receiving yards and Austin Ekeler had two touchdowns in the effort. Los Angeles got a big boost from its defense, who sacked Zach Wilson eight times.

The Lions, who have one of the best offenses in the NFL, are coming off their bye after getting back in the win column with a 26-14 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. In Week 7, they were handed a 38-6 smacking at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens. That snapped a four-game winning streak. Detroit is expected to have running back David Montgomery back from a rib injury.

Lorenzo Reyes: Lions 26, Chargers 20

Detroit is coming off the bye and the Chargers are on a short-iish week after they played Monday night. While L.A. has been cleaner, the passing offense under Justin Herbert has still been unsteady. I like Detroit quite a bit here, especially with the hook keeping this under a field goal.

Tyler Dragon: Chargers 27, Lions 26

The Lions will be rested coming off a bye week. Detroit’s second-ranked offense is going to have some advantages versus a leaky Chargers defense. However, the Chargers are coming off two of their most complete performances all season. They will carry that momentum in Los Angeles. The Chargers need to prove they can beat good football teams.

Safid Deen: Lions 34, Chargers 28

The Lions have the second-best offense in the NFL and will turn this road game in Los Angeles into a home game thanks to their passionate fan base. The Chargers aren’t as cohesive as the Lions have been and will lose another close game because of their trepidation offensively with Justin Herbert still navigating new coordinator Kellen Moore’s scheme in decisive moments.

Victoria Hernandez: Lions 28, Chargers 24

The Chargers are coming off two solid wins but had to get key plays from special teams and defense as their offense sputters. The Jets outpaced them 270-191 offensive yards last week. It looks like the Lions will have David Montgomery back and should be able to beat their third AFC West opponent.

Jordan Mendoza: Lions 34, Chargers 30

Two of the better offenses in the league, expect a lot of points to be scored in Los Angeles. The Chargers defense shut down the Jets on Monday, but this is a completely different squad. Detroit is coming off a bye and should be at full strength, which should translate into another win.
