5:41, Overtime: Seattle walks it off with Lockett touchdown, Lions lose 37-31

The Lions never got a chance with the ball in extra time. Seattle won the coin flip and drove down the field without any resistance to win the game. Geno Smith found Tyler Lockett on a crossing route and Lockett dove and hit the pylon to win.

The Lions defense struggled all afternoon to slow down Smith and the Seahawks offense. Smith threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns, both to Lockett, to secure a win in Detroit for the second straight year. Jared Goff had a great game, throwing for 323 yards and three touchdowns, but threw a crucial pick-six in the second half that changed the momentum of the game.

End of fourth quarter: Patterson sends game to OT with last-second field goal

Riley Patterson extended the game for Detroit. The Lions had good field possession, starting at the 50-yard line with 1:44 left after a good punt return from Kalif Raymond. The Lions got into to field goal range but did not push for a touchdown and settled for overtime.

3:08, fourth quarter: Reynolds second touchdown pulls Lions closer

Jared Goff rebounded off of the pick-six with a strong drive over five minutes. Goff completed five passes, including a touchdown pass to Josh Reynolds for his second score of the game. Reynolds and Jahmyr Gibbs were the primary weapons on that drive due to injuries to David Montgomery and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

8:04, fourth quarter: Goff throws pick-6

Jared Goff's streak of passes without an interception ended at the worst time for Detroit. Goff missed on a pass over the middle and threw to Seattle defensive back Tre Brown, who returned it for a touchdown. It was the first interception for Goff in over 380 pass attempts, the third-longest streak in NFL history.

10:00, fourth quarter: Vatai exits game with injury

The injuries are piling up fast for Detroit. Right guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai left the game with a lower body injury after a pile of bodies fell into his legs. Backup guard Graham Glasgow replaced him.

10:38, fourth quarter: Tyler Lockett TD puts Seattle ahead 24-21

The Seahawks took advantage of the good field position and took the lead heading into the final moments of the game. Geno Smith faked a handoff to Kenneth Walker III and pulled it to hit Tyler Lockett in the back of the endzone for the touchdown.

0:27, third quarter: Lions fail on fourth down

The aggression didn't pay off for the Lions this time. The Lions went for it on fourth down from its own 45-yard line but Jared Goff couldn't find Josh Reynolds. Reynolds was tripped on his route but the referees did not throw a flag for pass interference. Seattle is set up to potentially take the lead early in the fourth quarter with good field position.

Lions running back David Montgomery left the game with a thigh injury and is questionable to return and outside linebacker James Houston exited the game with an ankle injury.

3:27, third quarter: Seahawks hit field goal to trim lead to 21-17

Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn sent a well-timed blitz on third down in the red zone to force an errant pass from Geno Smith and a field goal. Seattle kicker Jason Myers finally connected on a kick on the short field goal to trim the Lions lead to four points just before the fourth quarter. Seattle moved slowly down the field, mainly on the ground, but had to settle for the kick.

9:05, third quarter: Montgomery redeems himself with goal line TD

The fumble is far behind David Montgomery. The running back was an integral part to a long Lions drive and capped it off with a touchdown run from four yards out. It was a very typical Lions drive with long in-breaking passes to Amon-Ra St. Brown, hard runs up the middle with Montgomery and a clutch fourth-down conversion on a shovel pass.

14:16, third quarter: Montgomery fumble sets up Walker TD

David Montgomery's first fumble as a Lion came at bad time for Detroit and Seattle immediately capitalized. On the first play of the second half looking to extend the lead, Montgomery fumbled on a shotgun handoff up the middle and Seattle recovered just outside the redzone.

The Seahawks moved the ball to the two-yard line and punched it in with Kenneth Walker III for his second touchdown of the game to tie it at 14.

Halftime: Seahawks miss last-second field goal, Lions lead 14-7

Seattle pieced together a last-second drive to set up a 56-yard field goal as time expired, but Jason Myers hooked another field goal. It was second miss for Myers in the first half.

The Lions hit the locker room with a 14-7 lead. Jared Goff threw two touchdowns to Josh Reynolds and Kalif Raymond to put the Lions ahead. The touchdown to Raymond was a flea flicker that completely fooled Seattle's defense and gave Raymond arguably the easiest touchdown of his career. David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs have combined for 50 yards on the ground on 13 carries and Amon-Ra St. Brown has three catches for 61 yards.

Seattle jumped ahead immediately on a Kenneth Walker III touchdown in his return to Michigan. The defense had a sloppy start filled with penalties but bounced back with no points allowed, with the help from Myers, for the rest of the half.

4:51, second quarter: Kalif Raymond scores on flea flicker

The bag of tricks for the Lions coaching staff is seemingly endless.

The Lions came up with a couple of key third down conversions to sustain a drive into Seattle territory after the missed field goal. On first down after a pass interference, Jared Goff handed the ball off to Jahmyr Gibbs, who flipped it back to Goff and he hit a wide open Kalif Raymond in the endzone. The flea flicker worked to perfection and completely fooled the Seattle secondary for an easy touchdown.

7:37, second quarter: Seahawks miss 45-yard field goal

Seahawks kicker Jason Myers pulled a kick far left of the uprights to negate a positive drive for Seattle. Geno Smith hit Noah Fant on a big play to put them in field goal range but the Lions secondary locked up the next three plays to force the kick. The Lions took over at its own 35-yard line.

Lions safety returned to the game after injuring his hip in the first quarter. Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf and cornerback Tariq Woolen both left the game with injuries.

9:36, second quarter: Lions fail on fourth down in Seattle territory

The Lions couldn't take the lead after getting a stop on defense. The drive stalled out inside the Seahawks' 40 yard line on fourth down. Jared Goff tried to find tight end Sam LaPorta on a crossing route but fellow rookie defensive back Devon Witherspoon knocked it away.

End of first quarter: Kerby Joseph questionable to return

Lions starting safety Kerby Joseph is questionable to return with a hip injury. Joseph sustained the injury on the opening drive of the game against Seattle. He has returned to the sideline but does not have a helmet on. Defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson also sustained an injury on the opening drive but returned to the game.

3:49, first quarter: Lions respond with Josh Reynolds touchdown

The Lions offense did not have the same issues as the defense to start. The offense had a four-minute drive that covered 75 yards. Detroit methodically moved the ball to midfield before Jared Goff found Josh Reynolds on back-to-back downfield strikes to find the endzone.

7:04, first quarter: Walker puts Seattle ahead 7-0 early

Kenneth Walker III is off to a good start in his return to Michigan. Seattle moved down the field easily on the first drive of the game on a steady diet of Walker runs and passes to DK Metcalf. The Lions kept giving the Seahawks opportunities in the redzone thanks to penalties and Walker punched it in from a yard out.

Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson's side looks to execute better Sunday after suffering a touchdown drought against Kansas City, before David Montgomery scored the winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Lions are without defensive end Josh Paschall, who was placed on IR Saturday with a knee injury, and left tackle Taylor Decker, who is dealing with an ankle injury. Romeo Okwara, the team's sack leader in 2020, is back in the lineup. Find more on the inactives.

Ford Field will be packed with a sold out crowd eager to see this version of the Lions for the first time. Head coach Dan Campbell expects a loud crowd, many of whom will be wearing blue ski masks at nickelback C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s request. It is also the first game for Barry Sanders' statue outside of Ford Field, which was unveiled Saturday.
