Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell weekly news conference: Live updates right now

Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell has some tough questions to answer during his weekly conference following the 29-0 loss Sunday to the New England Patriots.

The offense was bad (zero points and season lows in rushing yards), the defense was bad (allowing 176 yards rushing and 188 yards passing vs. a rookie quarterback) and the team was dominated on money downs (4-for-12 on third down and 0-for-6 on fourth).

To make the debacle feel worse, the Patriots were down to their third-string quarterback, Bailey Zappe, who got the win in his first NFL start. Worse still, Matt Patricia, fired last year as the Lions head coach, helped scheme up New England's dominance over Detroit.

MONARREZ:Why Lions' blowout loss to Patriots isn't all that horrible

SEIDEL:This shouldn't acceptable: Lions outplayed, outcoached. Ugh!

The loss keeps the 1-4 Lions in last place (the now 2-3 Chicago Bears lost to the now 1-4 Minnesota Vikings, so third place isn't too far!) in the NFC North. While the Lions weren't expected to challenge for the North crown, a minus-30 scoring differential was certainly not in the plans as well.

Next up: The bye followed by a road game vs. the Dallas Cowboys. Follow Campbell's conference below:
