DeAndre Hopkins' release from Arizona Cardinals shocks NFL

The Arizona Cardinals announced Friday that they were releasing wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

The release became official on Tuesday, making Hopkins a free agent and allowing him to sign with whatever team he would like.

The news follows month of trade speculation surrounding the star wide receiver, whose relationship had appeared to sour with the organization.

Hopkins was a no-show at Cardinals voluntary team activities in Tempe last week, instead choosing to work out in Toronto, where he created headlines by appearing on a podcast where he listed the Top 5 quarterbacks with whom he'd like to play and laying out what we wanted in an NFL organization, among other comments.
