Date officially set for national champion LSU women’s basketball to visit White House
The Tigers will be heading to the nation’s capital on May 26.
The 2023 national champion LSU women’s basketball team has been invited to celebrate the program’s first title in Washington, D.C, at the White House. It will be coach Kim Mulkey’s fourth visit to the White House as a national champion head coach, making trips under the George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump administrations while she was the coach at Baylor.
This will also be the fourth time an LSU team has visited the White House after winning a title, as the Tigers did so in football, baseball and track.

The visit was initially the subject of some controversy as First Lady Jill Biden floated the idea of also inviting Iowa to the ceremony, which was quickly met with criticism including from Tigers star Angel Reese.
But the Hawkeyes weren’t invited after all, and LSU will have the presidential residence to itself as it celebrates its first national championship.
