'Dang, I really got curb stomped': Grant Williams OK after Joel Embiid lands on his head

Boston Celtics forward Grant Williams went to the sidelines briefly for repairs after the Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid accidentally stepped on his head but was able to joke about it afterward.

"I was like, 'Dang, I really got curb stomped,' " Williams said to reporters about being shown the video after the Celtics' 114-102 victory in Game 3 at Philadelphia.

The incident happened in the fourth quarter during a loose ball play. Williams and teammate Jaylen Brown were on the court and Embiid, the league's MVP, accidentally stepped on Williams' head as he tried to leap over them. Williams grabbed his face, which was driven into the court, and Embiid fell.

Williams got looked at and eventually went back into the game. Embiid came up to him, said, "My bad" and explained himself. Williams didn't take offense to what happened.

"It happens, man," Williams, who had some blood on his face as a result of the incident, told reporters afterward. "He was falling backward and I'm just thankful he didn't fully lean his weight on it because he definitely got me pretty badly but then I think he felt like he landed on something so he picked his foot up."

Embiid finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds, but the Celtics took a 2-1 lead in the series.
