Dana White Says UFC 225 Was Standing-Room-Only (Gate and Attendance)
The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to Chicago on Saturday for UFC 225: Whittaker vs. Romero 2, which didn't feature the middleweight title fight that was expected, but it did deliver at the box office.
According to UFC president Dana White, UFC 225 drew 18,117 fans to the United Center for gate receipts totaling $2.55 million.
"It was a compete sellout; we actually started selling standing-room-only tickets," said White. "It's the highest attended non-basketball event in the arena's history."

Though Robert Whittaker's middleweight strap wasn't on the line after Yoel Romero failed to make weight, both men fought like it was. The two bludgeoned each other for five rounds, each getting in their shots on the other, but neither being able to finish the fight.
Both men were transported to the hospital for medical treatment following UFC 225 because of how brutal their bout was.
