Dan Mullen rejects possibility of being Alabama OC candidate

The Alabama football program recently lost its offensive coordinator to the New England Patriots. On Tuesday morning, news quickly spread that Bill O’Brien was headed to Foxborough to join Bill Belichick’s coaching staff.

On Tuesday evening, ESPN’s Chris Low reported that offensive coordinator candidate Dan Mullen would be continuing his role as a college football analyst. Some Alabama fans may have had Mullen penciled in as the team’s future offensive coordinator. Well, that will not be the case.

Mullen has a history of developing quarterbacks like Tim Tebow, Dak Prescott, and Kyle Trask. Through his stops at Mississippi State and Florida, Mullen cemented himself as one of the most prolific play-callers in the country.

Alabama will have plenty of options to choose from in its search for the program’s next offensive coordinator. Mullen can be taken off the list for the time being.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest regarding Alabama’s offensive coordinator opening.
