Is Dalvin Cook making subtle hints about desire to play for Patriots?

Free agent running back Dalvin Cook is one of the hottest names on the market right now, and there could be subtle signs that he wants to join the New England Patriots.

Cook retweeted a video from former NFL executive Michael Lombardi’s recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, when Lomabrdi was talking about why Cook would be a good fit for New England. He also liked a video with the caption “Dalvin Cook, you are a #Patriot.”

Cook would bring another star running back to the New England backfield and give a boost to a room headlined by Rhamondre Stevenson. He was solid carrying the football in his final year with the Minnesota Vikings with 264 carries for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns.

He is coming off four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

There have not been any reported meeting between Cook and the Patriots organization to this point. However, Cook did indicate he would like to play with wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who has been linked as a potential target for the Patriots throughout the offseason.

Could the Patriots be in a position to make a move for Cook and add depth and experience behind Stevenson? With training camp rapidly approaching, we may not have to wait long to find out.
