Milking the Midwest Moos pitching for all the offense they could could collect, the Bartlesville Doenges Ford Indians (19-U) blasted a season-high 18 hits on their way to a 13-5 baseball victory Saturday at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

Jace Thompson and Kaeden Young each squeezed out a double and three singles to lead the high-pressure assault.

Thompson also led the Indians with four RBIs, followed by Luke Fox, Trey Bennett IiI and Young with two apiece.

Nine Indian batters contributed at least one hit and six added to the RBI total.

Haden Fiddler and Young both fueled the attack with sacrifice bunts, while Dawson Morey launched a sacrifice fly.

On the pitching side, Brenden Asher collected the victory following five quality innings. Cole Hancock finished off the final four innings and struck out six batters.

With the win, the Indians improved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 at Rigdon Field in Doenges Stadium.

Next up, the Indians travel Tuesday to Rose State College for a doubleheader, starting at 3:30 p.m.

They will be back home Wednesday for a twi-night twinbill against Marucci Midwest, starting at 5:45 p.m.

Unlike their other two home wins — in which they had to rally from 3-0 deficits in both — the Indians squirted out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning and never really looked back.

The Moos made some noise in the top of the third during a two-run rally, but the Indians answered with a three-run eruption in the bottom of the third to stretch their lead to four runs, 6-2. Through six innings the Indians led, 9-2.

Both teams finished with a flurry of scoring in the last couple of frames in the scheduled nine-inning contest.

During his sparkling stint, Asher faced 22 batters, threw 48 strikes, and gave up two walks, two hit batsmen, three hits and no earned runs (the Moos scored two unearned tallies during Asher’s tenure). Asher also racked up six strikeouts.

Hancock allowed three hits, three earned runs, four walks and, as mentioned, fanned six batters. Being that the Indians already led by three runs when he went to the mound took away a chance to register a save.

The Indian offense, meanwhile, went to work early, following a brilliant first inning thrown by Asher.

He retired the side in order in the top of the first, starting out the game with a strikeout (swinging), and then setting up the defense for the next two outs on a ground-out and line-out.

Fox led off the bottom of the first with a walk, advanced on Fiddler’s sacrifice, moved up on Nik Johnson’s walk and scored on a fielder’s choice by Bennett to put the Indians up, 1-0.

In the bottom of the second, Fox singled home Kaleb Bashford and Thompson ripped a two-run double (scoring Kael Siemers and Fox) to stretch the lead to 3-0.

An inning later, the Indians added three more runs, with Young, Fox and Fiddler each delivering base-hit RBIs, Young’s being a double that plated Johnson.

During a three-run fifth, Morey lifted a sacrifice fly to plate Young and help widen the gap to 9-2.

The Indians finished out their scoring on a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth by Thompson.

In their four wins the Indians have outscored opponents, 40-16.

Other upcoming schedule highlights include a home showdown on June 21 against traditional summer rival Three Rivers and the annual Glen Winget Memorial Tournament, set to start on June 29 at Doenges Stadium.
