Cumberland, Cranston West, Pilgrim win in lacrosse; NK, Coventry and EG win in volleyball

BOYS LACROSSE

Division II

Cumberland 8, Prout 3

Down 3-1 at the break, Sean Taylor scored 3 of his 4 goals in the second half as Cumberland rallied to upend Prout. Sam Asermely had 2 goals and two assists in the win. Colby Enos was solid in net for the Clippers amassing 18 saves.

Cranston West 13, Coventry 7

Jack Majcher had four goals and 3 assists, Jaydon Vogle had the hat trick, Paul Debalsi had two tallies and 1 assist in the Falcons' win over the Oakers. Zane Parentau had four goals for the Coventry in the loss.

Pilgrim 20, South Kingstown 12

Ryan Barlow took over on offense, scoring eight goals to lead the Patriots to a 20-12 win over the Rebels. Braxton Bragg was outstanding on the offensive end as well, scoring five goals to go with four assists and Jacob Brennan came through on defense with 12 saves in goal. South Kingstown was led by Hampton Hubbard, who scored five goals and had one assist in the loss.

Division III

PCD/St. Raphael 6, Toll Gate 5

A hattrick by Evan Wait and solid goaltending by Andy Short (20 saves) paved the way for PCD/St. Raphael to bring down Toll Gate. With the win, the coop improves to 4-6 while the Titans, the second place team in DIII, slips to 9-2. Cooper Grossguth netted a pair of goals for Toll Gate.

BOYS TENNIS

Middletown 7, Westerly 0

Easton Heroux def. Dom Lombard, 6-4, 6-1; Alistair McClurg def. Hayes Goodman, 7-6, 6-1; Liam Cobb def. Liam Collé, 6-1, 6-4; Owen Hawkins def. Cam Kelly, 6-4, 6-2; Talien Barnes and Noah Fawcett def. Robbie Wade and Luke Nelson, 6-1, 6-4; Mohammed Hassan and John Wiest def. Jake Wasfy and Nate Riffe, 6-1, 6-0; Robert Bradfield and McKay Gleason, won by forfeit.

SOFTBALL

Division III

Mount St. Charles 6, Ex./West Greenwich 4

Trailing 4-0 in the 4th inning, the Mounties battled back on the play of Olivia Young, who belted a game-tying homerun in the 5th inning and also had a triple and she also came on in relief in the final three innings to get eight of the last nine outs on strikes to pick up the win.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Division I

North Kingstown 3, La Salle 1 (21-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-17), JV - L, 2-1.

The Skippers' Ryan Harrington had 15 kills, 10 digs and Cody Tow had 18 kills. For La Salle, Jack Johnson had 17 kills, 11 digs, 3 blocks.

Coventry 3, Classical 2 (18-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-20, 15-11)

Chariho 3, South Kingstown 0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-19). JV - SK, 2-0.

Matt Tiernan paved the way with 22 kills and 3 aces and Kody Poplasky recorded 28 assists as the the Chargers blanked the Rebels. Ben Wright had 6 kills and Luke Brock had 3 kills and 10 digs for SK in the loss.

East Greenwich 3, Cranston East 0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-23)

The Avengers were led by setter Max Silverman who had 38 assists, 4 digs, 2 blocks, and an ace. Brayden Stanger added 17 kills, 7 digs, and 3 aces. Cranston East's Charles Pincince had 8 kills in the loss.
