Cowboys won’t have Dak Prescott for Week 5 game vs. Rams
The Los Angeles Rams’ schedule just got a little bit easier. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a thumb injury in Sunday night’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will need surgery.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Prescott will be out 6-8 weeks. With Rams-Cowboys set for Week 5, he will surely miss that marquee matchup on Oct. 9.
It remains to be seen who will replace Prescott, but in the interim, it’s likely to be Cooper Rush. They could potentially pick someone up, such as Jimmy Garoppolo, but either way, they’ll be without their most important player against the Rams.

The Cowboys offense looked terrible even with Prescott on the field Sunday night, scoring just three points in a 19-3 loss at home. They gained just 244 total yards as a team, with Prescott only throwing for 134 yards and one interception.
The Rams didn’t look much better in Week 1, but at least they still have their starting quarterback.
