County building on Putnam Avenue going to auction again on May 26

ZANESVILLE — The county is taking another swing at selling an old health department building in Putnam at a public auction next week.

The property, located at 333 Putnam Ave., previously failed to attract any bids at an auction in January. Muskingum County commissioners also put the property out for sealed bids twice, but neither yielded a sale.

Those who want to purchase the parcel have another chance at a public auction 10 a.m. May 26 at the Muskingum County Courthouse. The minimum bid is $150,000, 25% lower than the asking price at the last auction.

The building is approximately 8,000 square feet with 4,000 square feet of parking, located on a 0.4-acre lot.

The site was once home to three Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department agencies, Help Me Grow, Families and Children First and Women, Infants and Children. They were moved to the current health department location downtown last year.

Property records can be found on the Muskingum County auditor's website. You can search properties by land parcel, address or owner. The Putnam Avenue property's parcel number is 81-19-02-12-000.
