Corpus Christi police arrest suspect in fatal Southside convenience store shooting
Corpus Christi police have arrested a man believed to be responsible for shooting and killing a man at a Southside convenience store Tuesday morning.
Around 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at the 6000 block of Ayers Street, near Bevecrest Street, Senior Officer Gena Pena said. One victim was located and was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries.
The suspected shooter was seen running northbound on Ayers Street. Police arrested 30-year-old Julian Lopez around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. He is charged with murder, a release from the department stated.
The victim's identity has not yet been released.
