Contract Details: Steelers sign former Georgia football WR George Pickens

On Friday, former Georgia wide receiver George Pickens signed his NFL rookie contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Monday, we learned the full details of the second round picks’ deal, via a tweet from Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson.

Per Wilson, Pickens signed a four-year, $6.752 million deal that includes a $2.09 million signing bonus.

Year 1: $705,000 in fully-guaranteed money for skill, injury and salary cap

Year 2: $1.011 million on fully-guaranteed money

Year 3: $1.318 million

Year 4: $1.625 million

Pickens was selected No. 52 overall in the 2022 NFL draft, becoming one of 15 Georgia players taken in what was a historic event for the Bulldogs.

Pickens is one of the most prolific receivers in Georgia history. An ACL tear in the spring of 2021 caused the Hoover, Alabama native to miss most of the national championship season.

Pickens did play in the postseason and helped Georgia to its first national title in 41 years.

A great combine performance solidified Pickens as one of the top receivers in this year’s draft. The Steelers got some great value here in the second round.
