Con Edison celebrated scholar athletes from 2022-2023 school year

Con Edison honored the 72nd Annual Con Edison Scholastic Sports Awards at their end of year celebration last Wednesday at the Davenport Mansion.

The celebration highlights each of the Con Edison Scholar Athletes of the Week for the 2022-2023 school year. The winners were selected for the outstanding achievement in and out of the classroom as well as on the competition field.

32 athletes were honored this season. At the event, there was a video shown honoring all 32 athletes. CON EDISON ATHLETE VIDEO

At the event, four scholarships winners were announced. The scholarships are the Irwin 'Red' Klein Scholarship, the Bob Wolff Memorial Scholarship, the Tony Sabella Memorial Scholarship and the Dr. Charles 'Doc' Blanford Memorial Scholarship.

Irwin 'Red' Klein Scholarship ($10,000): Amaya Davis, Hen Hud, Volleyball

Bob Wolff Memorial Scholarship ($5,000): Katie Blanch, Rye Neck, Softball

Tony Sabella Memorial Scholarship ($5,000): Jack Donohue, Stepinac, Football

Dr. Charles 'Doc' Blanford Memorial Scholarship ($5,000): Chloe Bernstein, Byram Hills, Tennis

Con Edison Athlete of the Week winners are selected by an impartial panel of athletic directors and coaches.
