Commanders PFF grades: Best and worst performers vs. Eagles in Week 4
The Washington Commanders came up short for the second consecutive week, falling 34-31 to the Philadelphia Eagles in overtime. Now 2-2, the Commanders must turn around quickly and prepare for a date with the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football.
Top 5 offense
WR Dyami Brown: 74.8
QB Sam Howell: 74.0
WR Terry McLaurin: 73.7
LT Charles Leno Jr: 71.4
WR Curtis Samuel: 71.0
Brown played 1/3 of Washington’s snaps and has started to see an increased role in the offense. He was tied for second on the team with 51 receiving yards. Howell bounced back from his worst game in a big way by not turning the ball over and scoring 31 points against one of the NFL’s top defenses. Howell had the Eagles on the ropes. McLaurin was targeted early and often and that should be the plan each week.

CB Benjamin St-Juste: 86.1
CB Kendall Fuller: 67.0
DE Casey Toohill: 66.7
S Darrick Forrest: 65.8
S Kamren Curl: 62.8
It was a bad day for the defense, and the grades reflect that. St-Juste did a good job, as did Kendall Fuller. St-Juste was targeted twice and allowed just one catch while playing every snap. Fuller allowed only two receptions and he also played every snap.

TE Cole Turner: 53.4
LG Saahdiq Charles: 51.3
RB Antonio Gibson: 51.1
RT Andrew Wylie: 49.0
RB Brian Robinson Jr: 45.3
We really aren’t sure what Robinson did to be Washington’s lowest-graded offensive player. Robinson ran hard, scored a touchdown, and should have had a second, but he fumbled at the goal line, and McLaurin recovered for the score. It was another rough day for Wylie, who allowed multiple pressures and at least one sack.

DT Jonathan Allen: 48.8
DT Abdullah Anderson: 48.6
CB Emmanuel Forbes: 41.6
S Percy Butler: 40.3
DE James Smith-Williams: 37.7
It’s unbelievable to see Allen this low on the list. Allen would tell you he didn’t play well. Amazingly, linebacker Cody Barton wasn’t among the bottom five. What a rough day for the rookie Forbes. He was targeted 13 times and allowed nine receptions, including two touchdowns. Welcome to the NFL.

It was a tough day for Dotson, who dropped a critical third-down pass late in the game to end a Washington possession. Chase Young was Washington’s top defensive lineman, recording the only sack from the front four.
