Comedy legends Bill Murray, Larry David courtside for Illinois vs. UConn

A pair of comedy titans attended the NCAA Tournament men's basketball game between UConn and Illinois.

Bill Murray and Larry David were courtside at TD Garden in Boston to watch UConn win the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight game on Saturday evening.

Bill Murray is also an Illini supporter

When it comes to sports, family comes first for "Saturday Night Live" and "Ghostbusters" star Bill Murray.

The native of suburban Chicago is a well-known fan of the University of Illinois. But on Saturday he wore UConn navy blue — as he has all tournament long — to support his son, Luke, who is a third-year assistant coach for the Huskies.

Murray famously tagged along with the 2005 Illini when they made their run to the Final Four. Peoria sports fans also might remember when he teamed with Illini grad and Pekin native D.A. Points during pro-am golf tournaments in 2011 and 2015.

Also near the UConn bench was "Seinfeld" co-creator Larry David, the star and creator of the long-running HBO series "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

David told CT Post "he was in Boston and his friend got him tickets."

How very Larry David of a response — and how very "Curb" of a courtside posture for David, who was pictured with his legs stretched out across a barrier in the front row at TD Garden.

One of the storylines in season 2 of his fictional but semi-autobiographical show included David stretching his legs out while sitting courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers game. In the 2001 episode, that led to Shaquille O'Neal getting injured as part of the storyline.

Doesn't look like any players were in danger of taking a tumble here.
