COLLEGE STATION —Edward Rush turned in a personal best time in the 8k as he finished sixth individually Saturday at the annual Arturo Barrios. The men placed fifth out of 41 teams while the women finished 16th out of 38 teams.

Rush crossed the end line at 23:54.70 to pace the men's squad, crushing his previous PB time (24:46.50). Matthew Maki placed 40th with a time of 24:41.80 as Isaac Hernandez finished 55th (24:50.40). Trey Leathers (25:12.10) and Samuel Ashley (25:13.10, PB) placed 86th and 90th to complete the scoring for Tech. It's the third-straight meet that Rush and Rahmaan lead their respective teams in scoring. Texas Tech is slated to host the Big 12 Championships on Oct. 28 at the LCU Cross Country Course.

LCU women’s soccer

Andy Holder connected with the equalizer in the 40th, but the Lady Chaps could not come up with the game-winner as they battled to a 1-1 tie against Texas Woman’s on Saturday in a Lone Star Conference contest at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex.

Holder, who netted her second goal of the season, had help from former Coronado standout Lexi De La Cruz and Hannah Irons — who were credited with an assist on the play for LCU (6-2-6, 3-2-3). De La Cruz leads the squad with eight goals to go with two assists.

The Lady Chaps were down 1-0 following an own goal in the 10th minute, but LCU shook off the mistake and knotted things up 30 minutes later against TWU (1-7-6, 1-3-5).

The two squads could not find the back of the net in the second half.

LCU is slated to host Midwestern State at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

With the victory, LCU (6-5-3, 3-1-1) finds itself in the midst of a two-match winning streak after downing UT Tyler (5-5-2, 0-4-1). It also means the Chaps kept pace with St. Mary’s (7-0-5), 3-0-1) pending a Saturday result in road contest against Oklahoma Christian.
