The College Football Playoff 12-team format won’t be decided on before September

With a potential 12-team postseason format for college have football proposed last week, the College Football Playoff managment committee has completed their initial review and moved the recommendation into a feedback phase per playoff executive director Bill Hancock.

The committee will take some extra time to decide on the new playoff format, a format that would help Wisconsin football have a consistent path into the postseason.

“We just need time to review this with our folks here on campus,” Hancock said. “That was the prevailing theme of the meeting. We just need more time.”

As of now, the process of deciding whether or not to go to 12 teams will be not be completed until at least September.
