College fantasy football players to add in Week 12

QUARTERBACK

Kellen Mond, Texas A&M: The A&M quarterback has been a reliable fantasy quarterback and gets the Ole Miss defense on Saturday. He’s projected to score nearly 30 points against a defense that has allowed at least 31 points to every conference opponent it has faced. There’s no reason to think A&M will break that streak, so Mond is a decent bet.

Adrian Martinez, Nebraska: I didn’t think Martinez would be a good play against Ohio State. He was, rushing for two touchdowns and throwing another. He should continue that against an Illinois team that will allow a lot of points. Martinez is owned in just about a third of Yahoo leagues, so he’s worth a flier.

RUNNING BACK

Devine Ozigbo: Ozigbo is on a roll and owned in just 36 percent of Yahoo leagues. An 86-yard effort against Ohio State on Saturday broke a streak of three straight games with over 100 rushing yards but he did score a touchdown for the fourth straight game. Nebraska’s offense is finding its footing late in the season and Ozigbo may be better than your starting running back options.

D.J. Knox, Purdue: Knox is in this space again because of a favorable matchup. The Boilermakers play Minnesota, a team that gave up 55 points to Illinois a week ago. Knox should find the end zone assuming David Blough and the Purdue passing game don’t hog all of the yardage on Saturday.

RECEIVER

Jamal Custis, Syracuse: Load up on any and every Syracuse player you can find. Friday night’s game against Louisville could be a look-ahead game to Nov. 17 against Notre Dame. But you can also argue that Louisville is looking ahead to the end of the season. Custis is owned in just 17 percent of leagues and has scored touchdowns in two of his last three games. He should score Friday night.

Marcus Simms, West Virginia: TCU is dealing with a ton of defensive injuries. Coach Gary Patterson said this week that the team has seven safeties injured. Seven! West Virginia’s offense should have a good day throwing the football. Simms is the third option behind David Sills and Gary Jennings but could still get five or six catches.

DEFENSE

Notre Dame: The Irish are owned in just 34 percent of leagues and are projected to score nearly 14 points against Florida State’s offense.

Virginia: If you’re looking for more upside, the Cavaliers take on Liberty in Week 11.
