College basketball recruiting: Matthew Gilhool showcases why he is a national recruit

At the Under Armour Next Session II, Matthew Gilhool was one of the standout performers. Offered by Rutgers basketball, Gilhool showcased his range and ability on offense, underscoring why he is such a highly-sought after recruit.

Gilhool is a talented forward from the Westtown School (Elizabethtown, PA). He is a three-star and ranked as the No. 188 player in the nation in the On3 composite rankings.

He currently holds offers from Rutgers, Maryland, Miami, Mississippi State, Penn State, Virginia Tech, La Salle and Temple among others. The Temple offer was the most recent for Gilhool and came in early May

At the Under Armour event, Gilhool showed some range with the ability to shoot from deep. But he also banged around effectively in the paint, using his length well. He finds space, posts up and has confidence when he turns and puts the ball on the floor.

A member of the 2024 recruiting class, Gilhool could well make a move up the rankings following his performance at the Under Armour event.

The Rutgers recruiting class is currently the second-highest ranked class in the nation according to 247Sports. It features five-star Airious Bailey along with two four-star commits in Lathan Sommerville and Dellquan Warren.
