College basketball rankings: Big Ten teams in updated Coaches Poll, AP Top 25 on Jan. 15

The second full week of 2024 was one of the most chaotic of the college basketball season so far.

Each of the top three teams lost, with Purdue dropping a game to Nebraska, Houston losing a pair to Iowa State and TCU, and Kansas dropping a game to UCF.

That parity alone may keep Purdue in the No. 1 spot for now, though UConn is climbing through the polls fast. Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Illinois split games against Michigan State and Maryland, while Wisconsin held serve against Ohio State and Northwestern.
