Coldwater's Foley named Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Week

The final Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Week for the winter sports season is now official, as Coldwater junior basketball superstar Elli Foley ran away with the vote to earn the last honor of the 2023-24 winter sports season.

Foley won this week’s vote by a landslide, taking nearly 61% of the vote in a vote that included some superb basketball efforts and an all-state gymnastics run.

Foley was named the Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Week after leading the Cardinals to a Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Division 1 district basketball championship win over Gull Lake last week, finishing the day with a team high 18 points to lead Coldwater to their second straight district crown.

Foley and her Cardinal teammates came up just a little short in the regional semifinal versus Portage Central this past Monday, however Foley finished off a stellar junior season by earning Interstate 8 all-conference honors.

Finishing in second place in the Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Week vote was Coldwater star gymnast Charlotte Calhoun.

Calhoun capped off a record-breaking career at Coldwater, cementing herself as one of the absolute best gymnasts to ever wear the red and white. Calhoun finds herself winning runner-up honors this week after earning all-state honors at the MHSAA gymnastics state championship. Calhoun battled to a pair of all-state honors, finishing in third place on the uneven bars with a score of 8.8 points, followed by an eighth-place finish on the vault with a score of 8.85 points.
