Clutch goals and career milestones: Vote for the H.S. Girls Hockey Player of the Week

Natick High's Sophia Luoni has been voted the High School Girls Hockey Player of the Week.

The freshman received nearly 59,000 votes to earn the honor for the second consecutive week. The goaltender stopped 29 shots in a 5-1 win over Watertown.

Hingham's Caroline Doherty also finished over 56,000 votes to place second. She scored a late goal to salvage a 1-1 tie with powerhouse Malden Catholic.

And this week's candidates are...

Hannah Lasch, Fr., Hingham: Lasch scored two goals in an 8-1 win over Winchester, but her biggest impact came in a 1-0 win over Archbishop Williams. She tallied the overtime winner.

Kate Sullivan, Jr., Thayer Academy: Sullivan scored two goals in a 3-2 win over Milton Academy.

Sabrina Stone, Soph., Milton: Stone scored two goals, including the winner with 4.5 seconds remaining, in a 3-2 win over Braintree.

Jennifer Birolini, Jr., Pembroke: Birolini scored her 100th career goal and 150th point in a 7-1 win over West Bridgewater/East Bridgewater.

Ella Cummings, Fr., Stoughton: Cummings scored both of her team's goals in a 5-2 loss to Boston Latin Academy.

Maddie Cantor, Fr., Norwell: Cantor had two goals in a 5-1 win over Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake.

Addy Cagan, Soph., Algonquin: Cagan stopped 26 shots to earn her fourth shutout of the season to boost the visiting Titans over host Martha’s Vineyard, 4-0, in Sunday’s consolation game of the Martha's Vineyard Tournament in Oak Bluffs. Cagan also made 25 saves in a 4-3 loss to St. Mary’s in the tournament’s first round on Saturday. Earlier in the week, Cagan backstopped a 2-0 win over Natick at the New England Sports Center.

Molly Ross, Sr., Wayland/Weston: The co-captain notched three goals and four assists in an 8-0 win over Cambridge Rindge & Latin on Saturday. In a 5-1 win over Central Catholic, she had two goals and two assists, and in a 4-3 win over Medford, Ross netted a goal with two assists.
