For those looking for a sure sign that the profile of the Cleveland Cavaliers is rising, look no further than the NBA’s latest scheduling announcement.

The Cavs will play the Brooklyn Nets in one of the league’s international games in Paris on Jan. 11, 2024. It will be the team’s third game played overseas, having played in China in 2007 and Brazil during the preseason in 2015.

It’s the team’s first game in Europe. It’s certainly a way to recognize France’s contribution to the NBA. The 2023 No. 1 overall draft pick, Victor Wembanyama, hails from France and no other country outside North America has given the league more players.
