Cleveland Cavaliers G Donovan Mitchell earns NBA Player of the Week honors

Cleveland Cavs guard Donovan Mitchell reaped the recognition from a 4-0 record for the week of Feb. 5-11 as he won his third Eastern Conference Player of the Week Award since joining the team.

Mitchell, who is also on the conference’s All-Star team, adds the honor to January’s player of the month recognition. That month’s success continued into the first week of February as Mitchell averaged 27.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists and two steals in 33 minutes per game.

He shot 54% from the floor and 46% from the three-point line. He leads the team in scoring with 28.2 points per game (fifth best in the league), 5.4 rebounds (career high) and 6.3 assists to go with a career high of 1.88 steals per game, which is second in the NBA.
