Cleveland Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins leaves game vs. Texans with hamstring injury

The Browns may have a kicker problem.

In the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans, Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins was shaken up trying to make a tackle on a kickoff return. He went to the medical tent twice after the return, but not back to the locker room.

After spending some time out of the tent, Hopkins went back into the tent. Hopkins was ruled out of the game at halftime.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told CBS sideline reporter Evan Washburn that the Browns don't have a backup field goal kicker on the roster.

Hopkins came into the game as one of the best kickers in the NFL this season. He’s connected on 33 of 36 field goal attempts this season (91.7%), including 8 for 8 on field goals of 50 yards or more.

Without Hopkins, the Browns have had to adjust. The Browns used punter Corey Bojorquez on kickoff duty at the start of the third quarter.

After their third touchdown of the game, Browns backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson came in and converted on a two-point conversion.

At the end of the first half, while the Browns had the ball on Houston's 20-yard line, the Browns went for it on fourth down. Hopkins typically would be automatic from that range. Instead, the Browns went for a pass from Flacco to Amari Cooper, and it was intercepted by Derek Stingley Jr.

The Browns acquired Hopkins in August in a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers.
