Clemson basketball live score updates vs. Syracuse in key ACC game

Two teams battling to stay alive in the ACC basketball race will meet in a key league game Saturday when Clemson plays at Syracuse.

Clemson (15-7, 5-6) is coming off an 80-75 victory against No. 3 North Carolina — just the Tigers’ second victory all time in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and the highest-ranked opponent they have beaten on the road since 1976.

Syracuse (16-8, 6-6) is coming off a 94-92 win over Louisville and is tied for seventh — one spot ahead of Clemson — in the ACC standings.

The game also will mark the return of Clemson guard Joseph Girard III to Syracuse, where he played his first four seasons before transferring. He’s the Tigers' second-leading scorer this season at 15 points per game and ranks second in the ACC in 3-point field goal percentage at 42.8%.

Syracuse is led by Judah Mintz, who’s third in the ACC in scoring (18.4 ppg), second in steals (2.1) and third in assists (4.6).
