Burglaries during big sporting events are apparently the in thing in the criminal world.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski went home from a heartbreaking loss in Super Bowl LII to find his house robbed.

Yasiel Puig had a similar experience after his Los Angeles Dodgers lost Game 7 of last year’s World Series to the Houston Astros.

LeBron James was recently greeted in Los Angeles by finding his name alongside a list of celebrities that included Puig as being targeted by a burglary ring.

This year, Los Angeles police are reportedly getting out ahead of the game while the Dodgers play the Boston Red Sox in the World Series.

TMZ reports that the LAPD are working with Dodgers stars including Puig, Clayton Kershaw and Justin Turner to prevent a repeat of last year’s incident at Puig’s house.

Police are seeking help from agents, MLB security personnel and personal assistants to help protect the property of Dodgers players.

While the cops can’t help with a difficult matchup against the 108-win Red Sox, giving players some peace of mind that they’ll return to a house that isn’t burglarized is a solid effort to support the home team.
