CJ Henderson leaves Week 9 game vs. Colts with concussion

Another week, another injury on defense for the Carolina Panthers.

Starting cornerback CJ Henderson left Sunday’s outing against the Indianapolis Colts due to a concussion. Henderson was injured during the second quarter of the contest and was almost immediately ruled out by the team.

Additionally, safety Xavier Woods made an exit after sustaining a thigh injury and was deemed questionable to return. He did, though, get back to the field before the break.

The Panthers have already sent 11 players to injured reserve this season, including eight defenders. Those currently on the shelf include linebackers Shaq Thompson, Justin Houston, Marquis Haynes Sr., Yetur Gross-Matos, safety Jeremy Chinn and cornerback Jaycee Horn.

Carolina also came into the Week 9 tilt without safety Vonn Bell. Bell has now missed the last three games due to a quadriceps injury.

With Henderson out, the Panthers have Donte Jackson, D’Shawn Jamison, Troy Hill and Dicaprio Bootle available at the cornerback position.
