The first player from the Cincinnati Reds' enormous 2023 rookie class to earn postseason recognition is Spencer Steer, the Reds' lone Silver Slugger award finalist.

Steer, who hit .271 and led the team in most offensive categories, including home runs (23), is the Reds' lone finalist, at the second-year utility "position." He started at least 36 games at three positions (first base, third base, left field) and 13 more at second.

Silver Slugger winners recognize the top offensive performer at each position and are determined by a vote of major league managers and coaches.

Winners are to be announced at 6 p.m. on Nov. 9.

The last Red to win a Silver Slugger was outfielder Nick Castellanos in 2021, although Brandon Drury won last year in the utility category after opening the season with the Reds before a deadline trade to the San Diego Padres.
