Sycamore 21, Mason 10 – FINAL

Oak Hills 35, Fairfield 28 – FINAL

Oak Hills and Fairfield traded scores for the entire game until the fourth quarter when the Highlanders shutdown Fairfield on defense while scoring the game-winning touchdown with 5:30 left in the game. Tied 21-21 at the half, Fairfield quarterback Talon Fisher scored on a 30-yard run to take a 28-21 lead. Oak Hills responded in less than 90 seconds, again tying the game on a 56-yard pass from Max Supe to Elias Wheeler. Oak Hills shutout Fairfield the rest of the game and Max Supe scored on a 15-yard run mid-way through the fourth quarter for the 35-28 victory. Fisher was just 8-18 passing with an interception for Fairfield, but picked up 282 yards on the ground with two scores. Juseters Fataki had 97 rushing yards for Fairfield also with two scores. Supe was 8-12 for 186 yards and two touchdowns as a passer while gaining 90 yards and a score on 16 rushes. Brandon Stidham also worked as a signal caller, going 7-16 for 74 yards and a touchdown.

Princeton 41, Middletown 15 – FINAL

Princeton sits atop the Greater Miami Conference standings and had no trouble dispatching of its conference rival, Middletown. When the Middies responded to a Princeton touchdown with a 94-yard kickoff return touchdown, the Vikings countered with their own kickoff return of their own. From there it was all Princeton as the team racked up 368 yards of total offense, adding two more touchdowns, a field goal, a safety and even a second kickoff return touchdown.

In its quest to continue its perfect regular season, Princeton travels to Colerain next week to face the 0-8 Cardinals.

Greater Catholic League-South

Elder 49, Life Christian Academy 7 – FINAL

Life Christian Academy traveled from Virginia to visit Elder at The Pit and returned home with a 49-7 loss on its record. Using a pair of backup quarterbacks, Elder’s Eli Roden and Ryan Schachleiter each had a 3-4 night passing for a pair of touchdowns while Schachleiter edged Roden with 77 passing yards to 70. Josh Mirus caught five passes, including all four touchdowns, for 130 yards. Evan Meier led the Panthers with 79 rushing yards with a touchdown while Trenton Meyer had 69 yards and two touchdowns.

Elder scored on each of its first seven drives and only failed to score on its drive that lasted over 14 minutes and took the entirety of the third quarter as well as the final drive that ran out the clock to end the game. Mirus became the first Elder receiver with four touchdowns in a game since Joe Royer against Ryle in 2019.

The Bishop Brossart Mustangs opened up the scoring in the first quarter with quarterback Keegan Gulley finding Alex Amin for a 55-yard touchdown. The Indians came back in the second to tie the game when quarterback Donovan Ambrocio connected with Andrew Bales for a 61-yard TD. Ambrocio ended the night 9 for 17 with 126 yards and 1 touchdown. Bishop Brossart was able to keep a steady stream of scoring throughout the game off of some strong rushing plays including a 32-yard run from Gulley for the Mustangs’ second touchdown. The 'Stangs ended the game with 193 yards rushing off of 38 carries.

Ryle 37, Campbell County 36 – FINAL (OT)

Four quarters wasn’t enough for Ryle and Campbell County as the two Class 6A teams were all tied up 30-30 after regulation. After a back-and-forth game that saw Ryle trailing 15-13 at the half, the Raiders needed a field goal at the buzzer to force overtime and senior Josh Line delivered a 27-yard ball through the uprights to keep his team alive.

In overtime, Ryle had possession first and scored seven points. Campbell made it to the end zone with a quarterback sneak on the response and opted to try for a 2-point conversion and the. Quarterback Nathan Smith was unable to connect on the pass for the conversion and the Camels fell 37-36.

The Bluebirds came out hot immediately against the Rebels of Boone County, scoring on an 83-yard kick return from senior David Hinegardner to begin the game. Quarterbacks Brody Benke and Rio Litmer had a perfect night in the air to give Highlands 222 yards of passing offense. Benke was 7-7 for 96 yards and two touchdowns, Litmer was under center for the second half and was 5-5 for 87 yards and three touchdowns.

Highlands’ win brought the team to 7-1 for the season and earned coach Bob Sphire his 300th high school coaching win.

East Central scored 41 points in the first quarter of its 62-0 shutout against Greensburg and has now outscored its last five opponents by a 274-0 margin. Star back Josh Ringer had five rushes for 247 yards and three touchdowns, including an 87-yard and a 90-yard scoring run. Ringer increased his career rushing total to 5,309, just 50 yards away from being second on the program’s all-time rushing list. The defending state champions wrap up the regular season next week at Indianapolis Roncalli.
