Christoval's Halle Hughes highlights District 7-2A girls basketball honors

Christoval's Halle Hughes was named the 2024 District 7-2A girls' basketball Most Valuable Player after helping lead the Lady Cougars to an undefeated district record, a 30-8 overall record and a regional quarterfinal appearance.

Hughes led the Lady Cougars in scoring after averaging 14.4 points per game while collecting 4.7 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.6 assists per game.

Ozona junior Kellyn Gass was named Offensive Player of the Year, while junior Valeria Garza and Forsan sophomore Harleigh Greer were awarded Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
