Chris Paul shares thoughts after season-high 14 assists
Chris Paul set a season high in assists as the Golden State Warriors secured a win against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. The veteran point guard secured a double-double performance courtesy of consistent field shooting and an array of impressive passes.
When speaking to the media after the game, Paul praised his teammates. He noted how racking up assists is easy with highly talented teammates across the floor. Nevertheless, Paul displayed the playmaking skills that excited Warriors fans when the franchise acquired him during the summer.
“It’s an easy game when you play with really good players,” Paul said. “Being out there on the court with Dray, who is such a high basketball IQ guy. Klay and Steph with their shooting, it allows for so much spacing. JK and the way he’s been playing, Wiggs, we just really got a complete team when they wanna be.”
This has been the first season Paul has come off the bench since he entered the NBA in 2005. After initially struggling to make an impact, he has grown into his new role. In 44 games, he’s averaging 9.4 points, 7.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 44.3% from the field and 38.5% from 3-point range.
